How to use Commercial Fruit Dehydrator?

1. Prepare the Fruit: To begin, give the fruit a thorough wash to get rid of any residue or debris. After cleaning, cut the fruit into uniformly sized pieces. This guarantees an equal drying of the fruit. Aim for slices that are about ⅛ to ¼ inch thick for the greatest results.

2. Load the Dehydrator: After slicing, place the fruit on each dehydrator tray in a single layer. Avoid overlapping the slices as this can interfere with the drying process. This procedure should be repeated for every tier if your dehydrator has more than one.

3. Adjust the Time and Temperature: The majority of dehydrators have temperature controls. Fruit should normally be dried at a temperature between 135°F and 145°F (57°C and 63°C). Depending on the kind of fruit you are drying and the thickness of the slices, set the timeframe. Generally speaking, depending on these factors, most fruits will take 4 to 12 hours to completely dry.

4. Wait for Completion: After the dehydrator is in place, go on and give it time to finish. Periodically check on the fruit to see how it's doing. To guarantee even drying, certain dehydrators may need you to flip the fruit slices or rotate the trays. Watch the time if your dehydrator doesn't have an automatic shut-off feature to avoid overdrying.
